GTA 5 Enhanced vs Legacy: Which PC Account Should You Buy?
Short answer: GTA V Enhanced is the upgraded PC edition released on March 4, 2025, with ray tracing, faster loading and the newer console features. GTA V Legacy is the original 2015 PC version. GTA Online progress is separate between the two, so buy an Enhanced account if you launch Enhanced and a Legacy account if you launch Legacy.

How do I know which edition I play?
Open your game library. Steam and Epic list them as two separate entries — "Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced" and "Grand Theft Auto V Legacy". The Rockstar Games Launcher also shows the edition name on the game tile. Whichever one you launch is the edition your GTA Online character belongs to.
Can I move my Legacy character to Enhanced?
Yes, once. Rockstar offers a one-time character migration from Legacy to Enhanced. After migrating you continue on Enhanced; you cannot move the character back. If you only plan to play Enhanced, buying an Enhanced account directly is the simplest choice.
Which modded account should I buy?
- Modern PC (RTX/RX series GPU): buy a PC Enhanced account.
- Older PC or you prefer the original version: buy a PC Legacy account.
- Unsure: launch the game first and check the edition name — then choose the matching account.
All our PC accounts work with Steam, Epic Games and the Rockstar Games Launcher because GTA Online progress is tied to your Rockstar account, not the store.
